Our Positive
Aims
Our main purposes and regular activities are:
(a) The advancement of human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation;
We were founded to work with other cultures where the people of Scotland (through involvement in British Colonialism) had an impact (positive and negative). We undertake research, applying lessons learned and best practice to use as a catalyst to bring reconciliation between the two countries.
(b) The advancement of citizenship or community development;
We provide opportunities for communities to become involved in activities that teach them about history and heritage bringing a sense of responsibility and pride in their community, whilst developing and learning new skills that will benefit them and their community in the future.
(c) The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture;

Arts, heritage, and culture play a key role in bringing understanding of who we are as citizens and culturally, fulfilment in achieving goals relative to us and understanding the history and heritage behind the lives we live.

(d) The advancement of education;
As well as our work with academic institutions, we involve local communities in researching and learning about their heritage, history and culture and how it came to be. This can impact across educational subjects anddifferent interests.
